The Fourth Additional District and Sessions Judge B N Lavanya Latha has sentenced a woman to life imprisonment and imposed on a fine of Rs 10,000 on her for throwing her two-month-old  daughter into a river.

Kavitha, a resident of Tirumala Devarahalli in Roppa Mandal of Andhra Pradesh, is the convict. The Koratagere police inspector had submitted a charge-sheet to the court. Public Prosecutor G T Rangappa had represented the state in the matter.
