PU student, friend held for finance firm staffer's murder

The police have arrested two people on the charge of murdering an employee of a private finance company in Basaveshwaranagar on June 23 over a parking row.

The arrested are Chetan (23), a resident of Byadaralli and Shivakumar (21) of Kamakshipalya. The police have seized a dragger and a bike from them. Chetan works as a plumber, while Shivakumar is a 2nd PU student at a private college and also works at a scrap store at Pattegarpalya. The duo and their absconding associate were involved in the murder of Madan Kumar (24), a resident of 1st Cross, 1st Main, Kamalanagar, Basaveshwaranagar, the police said.

The trio picked a fight with Madan over parking. Madan collapsed after being hit on the face. One of them repeatedly stabbed Madan. Later, the trio sped on their bikes. Based on CCTV footage and mobile call details, the two were arrested.

Arrested for murder
The Marathahalli police arrested a man on the charge of murdering his friend on Sunday night. The arrested is Gopal, a resident of Marathahalli 2nd Main. He is accused of murdering Dil Bahadur Lavathi. Four men from North India have taken a house on rent. They work as house keeping staff. Lavathi used return home drunk every night and did not do any household chores. This led to frequent fights. On Sunday night, there was a fight between them as Lavathi refused to help Gopal in cleaning the house. When Lavathi was fast asleep, Gopal bludgeoned him.
