Last Updated 04 August 2017, 21:09 IST

Actor Pranita Subhash considers her upcoming project ‘Mass Leader’ as special because it’s for the first time that she has acted opposite Shivarajkumar.

She admits that she learns something new from every co-star that she has worked with so far. In an interview with Nina C George, Pranita talks about her projects and more.

What’s unique about ‘Mass Leader’?
Shivarajkumar plays the role of an Army man and I play his wife. It is a very mature role and there is a lot of importance given to the relationship between a husband and wife. The character is being looked at from a fresh perspective.

On working with Shivarajkumar...
Shivarajkumar is well-versed in every aspect of filmmaking. Be it acting, choreography, direction or dance, he makes a substantial contribution to everything. For someone who has completed more than 100 films, he remains humble and literally takes the newcomers with him. You learn a lot when you work with a person like him.

Why did you want to work with Shivarajkumar?
Shivarajkumar is open to suggestions. He has seen how the Kannada film industry has evolved over the years. He believes that one must evolve with time and adapt to the changes around. This is also why he is loved by people of all generations.

What keeps you busy when you are not working in Kannada films?
I have a couple of projects lined up in Telugu and Tamil. My Tamil film, ‘Gemini Ganeshanum Suruli Raajanum’ with Atharvaa released recently and I am happy with the reviews.

Are you comfortable with the busy pace that you are in right now?
I want to do everything that I can and achieve as much as I can in this one life. There’s excitement only when I am able to do everything that I set out to.

On turning an entrepreneur...
I always wanted to do something related to the hospitality industry and I have finally managed to do that now. I had a passion for food and Bengaluru has an interesting mix of people who don’t shy way from experimenting with different cuisines. I wanted to contribute to the growing food culture of Bengaluru in some way and I have managed to achieve that through my new venture.

On actors voicing their opinions on social media...
There are two sides to this. Actors lending their support through social media for a good cause is welcome. But there are times when you see random comments on social media. And they sometimes go overboard.

What’s your mantra to staying fit?
I don’t follow a set pattern. The kind of physical activity that I indulge in changes from time to time. It could be anything from yoga to working out.
