Sensitivity comes to fore

Kharaashein, a compelling play by Gulzar will be staged at Alliance Francaise on June 5 at 7.45 pm and on June 6 at 4 pm and 7 pm.

The play is a compilation of Gulzar’s short stories and poems by Salim Arif. The play is a production of Kalayan, and is directed by Mathura Kalauny.

The play is serious, sensitive and thought-provoking. It is in fact a collage and the collage is so compact that one does not realise that there are four short stories and a number of poems. connecting the stories.

The play is about the human faces that brave odds, put their own lives at risk and help people irrespective of their religion, cast and creed, in every atrocity which is perpetrated by religious zealots. Kharaashein has been described as an emotional experience one must go through and be stirred to the depth of one's soul. Mathura Kalauny, on the other hand, has been staging meaningful plays for the past 20 years in the City.
