<p>There is no improvement in the health of Abdul Karim Telgi, THE kingpin of the multi-crore stamp paper scam, who was admitted to Victoria Hospital’s trauma care centre a week ago, doctors at the hospital said on Tuesday.<br /><br />A press statement from the hospital said, “Presently, he is critical due to multi-organ failure. He is on ventilator and other life support systems. His condition has not shown any improvement and prognosis is poor.” <br /><br />Speaking to DH, Balaji Pai, special officer of the centre, said, “I prepared a press statement after being flooded with calls on Monday night, enquiring about Telgi’s condition. I received more than 46 calls again on Tuesday.” He, however, refused to disclose details of Telgi’s condition.<br /><br />Telgi was convicted in 2006 for printing fake stamp papers. The scandal had rocked the state in early 2000. He has diabetes, hypothyroidism, and hypertension, besides a host of other ailments, a prison source said.<br />DH News Service</p>
