Raitha Sangha leader invited to join BJP

A meeting between Channapatna MLA C P Yogeshwar and Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha organising secretary K S Nanjundegowda on Sunday has created much curiosity in political circles here.

Yogeshwar, BJP district-in-charge Tejaswini Ramesh and other BJP leaders met Nanjundegowda, who was holding a meeting at a guest house in Srirangapatna on Sunday, and invited him to join their party.

Speaking to reporters, Yogeshwar said that they have invited Nanjundegowda to join BJP to strengthen BJP in Mandya and Mysuru region. Nanjundegowda said he would consult his supporters and take a decision. "The party will decide on issuing a ticket to Nanjundegowda from Srirangapatna. " Yogeshwar said. Nanjundegowda had contested from Raitha Sangha six times and was defeated all the times. He was an aspirant for a JD(S) ticket for the upcoming Assembly polls and had met H D Deve Gowda but, Nanjundegowda was reportedly upset after Kumarswamy met Raveendra Srikantaiah and promised a ticket to him.
