Bike-borne thieves steal Rs two lakh from car

According to police, Dr Shivakumar Swamy withdrew the money from the HDFC Bank in JP Nagar. He started towards Jayanagar 9th Main with the cash in a bag to be paid for an engineer constructing a building for him. He asked the driver to stop the vehicle near the post office as he wanted to meet a person to troubleshoot his computer. The cash bag was on the seat when he went inside the shop.

Unidentified persons on a motorcycle broke open the windscreen of the car and fled with the cash bag even as the doctor and his car driver were just 20 feet away. The doctor’s efforts to chase the thieves went in vain, said Jayanagar police.

2 held for ganja sale

The CCB sleuths have arrested Santosh Kumar (23) of Haleguddadalli and Pradeep Rajkumar (32) from Padarayanapura on the charge of selling ganja. The duo were nabbed when they were trying to sell the banned substance on Arafat Road in JJ Nagar. They told the police that they used to buy ganja from a man named Mehaboob. Police are now looking for Mehaboob. Ganja worth Rs 40,000 has been recovered from the arrested.

BMTC bus kills biker

A motorcyclist was crushed to death under the wheels of a BMTC bus near Baba Shahwali Darga in Chikkajala police limits on Saturday. Ravi (30), a resident of Vidyaranyapura was heading for Razaqpalya.
