Ban on pvt vehicles atop Chamundi Hill for New Year

To ensure the safety of the people on the occasion of New Year celebrations, the city police have banned movement of private vehicles atop the Chamundi Hill from December 31, 9 pm to January 1, 2018, 5.30 am.

City police Commissioner Dr A Subramanyeshwar Rao in a communication to Siddhartha Nagar Traffic and KR Police inspectors, has issued directions to take measures to restrict movement of vehicles atop the hill. However, vehicles of the residents of Chamundi Hill are allowed.

According to the police, the people visit Chamundi Hill to celebrate the New Year. Most of the visitors consume alcohol atop the hill and thus, to avoid any untoward incident, the police have decided to restrict the vehicles atop the hill.
