Whitefield residents clean up footpath on New Year's Day

Last Updated 02 January 2018, 06:37 IST
On New Year's Day, Whitefield woke up to a group of residents, led by three Deens Academy students, cleaning up the footpath at Outer Circle, collecting dry leaves for composting and sprinkling water at the plants in the green corner that Whitefield Rising volunteers had created in July 2016.

"We have periodically taken up small and big clean-ups in the Mahadevapura zone," a participant said.

Pravir, a volunteer for Whitefield Rising, a group of citizen activists, said:  "Footpath First is our attempt to clean the streets, green the corners and care for the pedestrians."
