This picture was taken in 1987 during my Master degree days. I studied in Bangalore University Centre for Rural Development at Jnana Bharathi, Bangalore University from 1985 to 1987.

Many of the classmates are now serving as college principals in various colleges across the Karnataka Government services. Presently Dr T H Murthy is a professor and chairman of the department of rural development studies, Bangalore University.

Our batchmates not only excellent in academics, but also in sports and other extracurricular activities. We had many excellent teachers like Dr Vijaya
Kumar, Mr Rame Gowda who later became an IAS offer was a transport commissioner for the Government of Karnataka till July 2016.

I had three fantastic years embracing university life. I was heavily involved in student activities and was cricket player in the university. It was very
social with lots of parties and concerts. The then chief minister Gundu
Rao, J H Patel and Ramakrishna Hegde visited university for the student union functions.

I cannot forget Prof A Kalappa, our head of the department, who made
our disciplines very strict and known as military man.

The library of the university is located in the JB Campus and City Campus. The Jnana Bharathi campus Library has a floor area of about 6500 square metres. It was green and free from pollution and it was enjoyable!
The Basappa canteen was popular for its 'puri' and 'rice sambar'. Those days of 80s at Jnanabharathi will always be evergreen. I wish I could go back to those old good days.
