In a shocking incident, a constable from the State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) fired indiscriminately and killed three persons in the Daund taluk of Pune district on Tuesday.
The shooter has been identified as Sanjay Shinde, who was attached to the Indian Reserve Battalion Group-VII of the SRPF based in Daund.
Later, policemen from the Pune Rural police, SRPF and Quick Reaction Team reached the house where Shide was hiding and persuaded him to surrender.
Shinde had started firing with his service revolver at public places in Borawake Nagar and Morinagar Chowk.
Immediately after firing upon the three persons, he managed to escape to his residence in a nearby locality.
