Status quo ordered

 
The petitioners Dr C S Dwarkanath and five others have moved the HC in connection with amendment made by the Government dated April 4.

The State’s new rule to make the powers of the Chairman at par with Cabinet minister will take away powers contrary to the objects in which the commission has been constituted.
The petitioners submitted that the new rule is aimed at diluting the powers of the commission. The appointment of member secretary will defeat the very purpose of establishing the commission. The division bench headed by Justice Manjula Chellur has ordered status quo.
