Man kills wife over domestic row

A 43-year-old auto driver killed his wife over a domestic row, and tried to make it look like  a natural death. The police grew suspicious and picked him up for questioning, following which he confessed to the crime.

Srinivas Reddy and his 35-year-old wife Bhagyamma, along with their 13-year-old son, were residing in Kogilu Layout near Yelahanka for the past three years. The couple, who were married for 15 years, frequently quarrelled over financial issues, the police said.

On Wednesday night, the couple quarrelled again. Around 5 am, Reddy strangulated his wife. He then woke up his son and told him that Bhagyamma had suffered a heart attack. They took her to the Yelahanka government hospital, but she was declared brought dead.
