Tejraj Sharma, who allegedly stabbed Lokayukta Justice P Vishwanath Shetty, has filed around 15 complaints against various government servants for 'violation' of rules in awarding tenders.

Of the 15 complaints, eight were clubbed as one complaint and was closed. All the complaints were filed in 2017.

Sources in the Lokayukta office said that Sharma had filed one complaint which was under the jurisdiction of Justice Shetty and was closed last September. The other complaints are before Upalokykta jurisdiction. Preliminary enquiry revealed that Sharma used to supply finished furniture items to various government departments and schools in and around Tumakuru. He used to take part in tenders called for supply of furniture.

"In most of the tenders he had participated during 2016-17, he failed to emerge as the lowest bidder; L1. He had raised complaints against authorities alleging irregularities in awarding these tenders. Most of the complaints that he had filed were closed after it was found that the tenders were legally processed,'' an official said.

On Wednesday, Sharma had visited the Lokayukta office to request an official to consider a re-enquiry on his complaint. However, when the enquiry official, who sits on the third floor, refused to oblige him and said the matter will have to be closed after final scrutiny, Sharma decided to meet the Lokayukta.

"He had  come to the Lokayukta office a week ago and he was  told that the complaint would be closed. He showed no anger but went straight to the Lokayukta's chamber on the first floor,'' an official said. Sharma had filed complaints against officials such as Deputy Director of Public Instruction, Senior Division Assistant, Assistant Director of Sericulture department and an official of Commercial Taxes department.
