Raitha Sangha to contest Assembly polls

Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha leader Kodihalli Pradeep said the Raitha Sangha, under the leadership of Kodihalli Chandrashekhar, will contest the upcoming Legislative Assembly election.

Pradeep said he will contest from Kadur constituency.

Speaking to reporters on Friday, he said that it is a tragedy that no permanent irrigation projects have been implemented in the drought-hit Kadur taluk.

"If a farmer representative wins the election, he can raise the farmers' issues in the assembly. The national parties have failed in solving the problems of farmers. I have been fighting for the cause of farmers for the last 10 years. I know the problems of the farmers in Kadur. I will submit my nomination papers on April 23."
