The corner is known for all varieties of dosa, idli, vada, uppittu and kesaribath but it’s the crisp and delicious avarekalu dosa, which has made this place famous. Though the food junction offers little space to sit, it is overcrowded with customers of all age groups.

Started by five like-minded people in partnership, the eatery has created a special menu under the title Jumbo Thindi which is quite popular among the customers. Under this category, one can taste kesaribath, uppittu, idli, vada and mini masala dosa, along with chutney and sambar on a single plate.

“Our clients can relish all these items for Rs 30. Usually, girls, who go for this item, share it with their friends as they can’t finish it on their own,” says Sudheendra, one of the partners.

He reveals the idea behind its inception.

“We started this corner as a means to serve the customers with quality, hygienic and tasty food. The title Mane Thindi looked apt as we prepare the food in the same way as it is made at home,” he says.

Looked after by Vadiraj, the place is also well known for a variety of dosas including avarekalu dosa, bread dosa, onion dosa, medu dosa, set dosa and open dosa.

On Saturdays and Sundays, since the place has many customers, it id hard to cater to the demands of the customers.

The menu also carries crunchy stuff like maddur vada and bhajjis along with a rice item which changes everyday.

The eatery is quite famous with the medical students of KIMS and they come here in the mornings.

“Avarekalu Dosa is my favourite and I come here for that. The crispy feel and the taste will make you remember this place forever! Most of my friends have become addicted to it and they drive me here,” laughs Shashank, a student.

“Some of the television artistes frequently visit the place. We also cater for actor Upendra, who stays nearby,” says Sudheendra.

The food court opens at 7 am and closes at 9.30 pm.
