Speaking at the Karmikara Kannada Jagruthi Samavesha on Thursday, President of KDA Mukyhamantri Chandru said that private firms, who make use of the infrastructure and facilities provided by the state, should be instructed to give preference to Kannadigas.
“Kannadigas have not had sufficient opportunities for employment in Centre and State- run enterprises. Hence, the Centre should formulate a policy to give preference to locals for Group C and D categories,” he said.
A Kannada teaching centre for non-Kannadigas was inaugurated by the Mayor S K Nataraj.
