The Back-Up Plan

Its artificial, baby!
Last Updated 14 May 2010, 16:48 IST

The Back-Up Plan’ is one of the most boring romcom in recent years. It’s execution is lazy and the characters are so transparent you can possibly read through their future journeys within the first fifteen minutes.

Though there are mild adult humours about sexual organs and pregnancy the film fails to generate much interest except for the fact that it highlighted the fears and joy of pregnancy and parenthood.

The film drags on to the last frame. It’s slow and the cast isn’t great either. Lopez tries exceedingly hard to please the crowd, but she gives away the poorly written script in the second half. Director Alan Poul should have stuck to the ‘original plan’ if there was any.
