15,438 agri labourers get pension in Kasargod

He said in 2006-07, a sum of Rs 90.12 lakh was utilised. Similarly, in 2007-08, a sum of Rs 4.54 crore; In 2008-09, a sum of Rs 4.16 crore and in 2009-10, a sum of Rs 4.98 crore have been spent.

Under the Intergrated Health insurance scheme for the BPL families, a total of 46,828 members have been registered. Of which, 7,120 have availed the free treatment amounting to Rs 182.64 lakh. The scheme has been introduced jointly by the Centre-State and United India Insurance Company.

Similarly, the State government with the assistance from Centre in association with LIC  has implemented ‘Aam admi Bheema yojane’ to those who own below 5 cents land and are in the age group of 18 to 59. If the insured person dies, then the family will get a sum of Rs 75,000; If the person becomes handicapped, then a sum of Rs 37,500 will be given. Under the scheme, the two children of the beneficiary will be given scholarship.
