Indian women seal series triumph

India trailed 0-1 at half time but came back strongly after the break with goals from skipper Surinder Kaur (43rd), Saba Anjum (64th minute) and Rani Rampal (69th minute).
The lone Black Sticks’ goal came in the 21st minute when Piki Hamahona struck on a rebound. India also had their share of chances in the first half but couldn’t convert any of them. However, the team found its rhythm in the second half and put away three field goals.

Surinder scored from a deflection in the 43rd minute before Saba flicked one in from close range in the 64th minute.Rani then sealed the series win with a breakaway goal right on full-time. India won the first ‘Test’ in Palmerston North a week ago. The second ‘Test’ in Palmerston North and the third ‘Test’ in Napier ended in draws.
