Sushma had earlier got her name registered in record books when she cleared the High School examination (Tenth standard) of the Uttar Pradesh Board at age eight.

On Friday last, Sushma, who was born on February 7, 2000, appeared in the CPMT from Bal Nikunj Inter College centre in the city.

She said after the examination that she had done well in zoology, botany and chemistry papers. The physics paper was a bit tough.

The officials, however, said as per the rules and regulations governing the CPMT, a candidate must complete 17 years of age at the time of appearing for the test.
“We will look into the matter and find out how she was allowed to appear for the test,” said an official associated with the entrance test.
Sushma is undeterred. “I had filled up my correct date of birth in the application form and I appeared for the examination when I received my admission card,” she said.

Trial attempt
“Any way I had written the test as a trial...I shall not be disappointed if I am not able to get through,” she added.

Sushma, who has appeared for the intermediate examination of the UP board this year, is eagerly awaiting her results. The results are likely to be declared on May 27 next. She would create another record if she cleared the examinations.

Sushma comes from a poor family. Her father Tej Bahadur Verma is a labourer and her mother a housewife. Both of them are illiterate but they extend all help to their children to pursue their studies.

Sushma’s brother Shailendra is also very talented. He had successfully completed the Bachelor of Computer Applications from the University of Lucknow at the age of 14.
