The ministry is yet to fully make up its mind, since a change in night schedule will throw its whole operations out of gear. Member-Traffic Vivek Sahai told reporters on Friday: “We are discussing the issue of suspending operation during night time in Orissa, Bihar, Bengal, Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh. A decision will be taken shortly. There are intelligence reports of threat to railway assets from (Maoists) elements, as they are observing ‘Black Week,’ ”he said.
