Setting the screen on fire

Last Updated 06 May 2013, 12:43 IST

Katrina Kaif and Hrithik Roshan shared screen space in Zoya Akhtar’s Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and won rave reviews for their chemistry on screen. Both are leading actors in contemporary Bollywood and the combination of their power-packed performances had a positive impact on critics as well as in terms of box-office numbers. And now, the two are ready to set the screen on fire again — this time, with the movie ‘Bang Bang’.

The movie is scheduled to go on floors this month and apparently, will be released on to the big screen exactly a year from now, on May 1, 2014.

‘Bang Bang’ will be directed by the recluse and media-shy Siddharth Anand, who has also delivered romantic-comedies like Bachna Ae Haseeno, Anjaana Anjaani and Salaam Namaste.

Bringing together two of the hottest stars of tinsel town, the film will be shot across Europe, the Far East and India and will have spectacular stunt sequences, intense chemistry and edge-of-the-seat excitement, as Hrithik and Katrina will scorch  the silver screen in never-before-seen avatars. The film’s screenplay has been written by Sujoy Ghosh, of Kahaani fame and Suresh Nair, who has penned hits like ‘Singh Is King’ and Namaste London, which also starred Katrina. Also on the team is Abbas Tyrewala, who worked on Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na.

The movie is being produced by Fox Star Studios, which is looking to step up its presence in the Indian film industry. The studio has delivered five movies over the last few months in English, Hindi and Tamil, including the most recent ‘Jolly LLB’.
