However, no development has been taking place in the district with regard to tourism. <br />“In the backdrop of steep fall in the price of coffee, to improve the economic condition of Kodagu, tourism needs to be promoted. The Centre has earmarked Rs 9,100 crore towards the promotion of tourism. Though other states have already started promoting tourism. Karnataka is lagging behind in the promotion. In fact, I had met Tourism Minister Janardhan Reddy and appealed him to take the help of Centre in promoting tourism.” <br /><br />“There is atmosphere in favour of the promotion of tourism in Kodagu and Mysore. I will discuss on eco tourism with Assembly Speaker K G Bopaiah, MLA Appacchuranjan and other elected representatives,” he added. <br /></p>
