JOIN USThe incident came to light on Friday morning, when the actor's son Ishaan visited their Nalanda building flat, which was found ransacked, police said.Om Puri has two houses and he lives in another house nearby while the flat was being used as a store room.
"The actor's wife claimed that cash of Rs 1 lakh and jewellery worth Rs 75,000 were missing from the flat. The door and windows were broken open, which suggests the thieves sneaked into the house by either breaking windows or the door," Senior Inspector S Nalawade at Versova Police Station told PTI. Neighbours had heard noises coming from the actor's house on Thursday night but they thought the Puri couple might be home, he said. The police suspect the involvement of Nepali watchmen at the building, who have went missing since the incident, Nalawade said.
A case had been registered and further probe is on.
