State eves trounce TN in last tie to pip Hyderabad

Karnataka, who finished the tournament with 17 points -- including two bonus points -- edged out Hyderabad, also on 17, by virtue of more number wins.

Karnataka won four out of their five matches while Hyderabad won three, all with bonus points, lost one and had rain ruin their party in another.

After the match was reduced to 33-overs-a-side due to overnight rain, Karuna Jain (79 n.o.) and Sneha Prasanna (54) powered Karnataka to a comfortable 179 for five at the NRA ground on Monday.

In reply, TN struggled against Spoorthi (3/21) and Akansha R Kohli (2/25) before folding up for 127 in 28 overs.
