''I gave my consent for a career in films as I am sure he will become a superstar in whatever field he chooses," Paswan said after witnessing the mahurat shot of the Hindi film at Madh island in north Mumbai on Thursday.

"Wherever he goes, he will carve a niche, whether in films or politics. It's good that he chose a different path. Had he come into politics, he would have lived in my shadow. Now, I will be known as the father of a Bollywood actor," Paswan said.

Asked if Chirag would eventually follow him into politics, the Lok Janshakti Party President said, "He has his entire life ahead of him for politics. He has chosen films and I am sure he will succeed. This field is very challenging and he has accepted the challenge."

After Ritieish Deshmukh, son of Union minister Vilasrao Deshmukh, Chirag is the latest entrant into Bollywood from a political family.

Asked if he would support Chirag the same way Deshmukh backed Riteish, Paswan said, "I am new to Bollywood. I don't know anything here. I wasn't even aware of who the actors in the film are but being his father, my support and best wishes are with him."

"For Chirag, the film industry is a new field. He has the personality, command over language and the facial expressions....all qualities fit to be an actor. I am sure he will go places," Paswan said.

Asked what made him decide to enter the film industry despite his father being in politics, Chirag said Bollywood was a childhood dream.

"It did not happen all of a sudden. When I was a student, I knew that I would join the industry after completing my education," he said.

The film is being directed by Tanveer Khan who earlier made 'Deadline: Sirf 24 Ghante'.
The love story has Chirag paired opposite Kangna Ranaut, Sagarika Ghatge and Neeru Bajwa. It is being produced by Anuj Saxena's Maverick Productions.

Actors Vinod Khanna, Sagarika Ghatge and Poonam Dhillon were present at the mahurat.
