“Be sincere, be hardworking and sky is your limit. We must be proud that there is no gender discrimination in our society,” Bidari told students of Bishop Cotton Girls School during his inaugural address of Senior School Annual Prize Day Celebration.

The official also listed examples from history to support his point. “There are numerous instances in the Indian history which indicate that women have the potential to rise to top. Rani Laxmibai, Razia Sultana, former prime ministers are from our own country. We are on par with numerous developed countries in this matter,” said Bidari.

The police chief also told students that there were no short cuts to success in life. “The shortest distance between two points is a straight line. If you take any other route, it will be longer and more difficult. So avoid short cuts,” the Commissioner said.

The highlight of the event was the annual report presentation by principal Lydia Joshua. The new principal highlighted the academic achievements of the school in inter and intra school activities.
