The Nanded magistrate conducted a fresh hearing upon completion of their two-day judicial remand on Monday. Judicial Magistrate Deepak Matha conducted the proceedings in ITI building premises in Dharmabad where Naidu and other TDP leaders are lodged.

Official sources said Naidu may be shifted to Ahmednagar central jail and other TDP leaders including MPs and MLAs to Nashik and Aurangabad central jails respectively.

Babhli Kriti Sangarsh Samiti sources said the Nanded bandh call given by the body could be withdrawn if Naidu is shifted from Dharmabad on Monday.

The Samiti has given a bandh call on Tuesday demanding immediate shifting of Naidu from Dharmabad viewing his presence as a threat to law and order situation there.

Meanwhile, Naidu refused to budge from his stand saying he will not return to Andhra Pradesh unless he was allowed to visit the Babhli project site.

Naidu and the 74 TDP leaders were arrested on July 16 when they sought to visit the controversial Babhli irrigation project site constructed on river Godavari.

They were remanded in two-day judicial custody on July 17 and detained in the ITI building at Dharmabad, 12-km from the Andhra Pradesh border.
