Bhardwaj rues conduct in Legislature sessions

Last Updated 20 July 2010, 18:14 IST

The Governor conveyed this to Legislative Council Chairman D H Shankaramurthy when the latter called on him at Raj Bhavan on Tuesday.

The Governor’s comments come at a time when the Appropriation Bill and 16 other bills were passed by both houses without any debate following an indefinite dharna by the combined Opposition in support of their demand for a CBI probe into illegal mining in the State.

Shankaramurthy, however, told reporters that the Governor was speaking in general terms and did not make any specific reference to the Legislature proceedings. The meeting between the two lasted for about an hour. The Chairman described it as a courtesy call.
