The deceased are Shohib (21) and Saadike (15). While Shohib is a final year BCom student of Kalyanpur Milgres school, Saadik, a relative of Shohib, had arrived from Mumbai just a few days ago to his relative. It is said that about 7 youth had been for a swim when the mishap occurred.
2 hurt as tempo skids
Two persons suffered injuries when a tempo skidded near Nethravathi bridge on Wednesday.
Police said tempo driver Ravi and conductor Shayan Kumar, both residents of Padil, suffered injuries when the tempo plunged into a ditch a few minutes away from the bridge. In fact, a portion of the vehicle has been submerged in the back waters.
Before plunging into the water body, the tempo hit a motorbike parked by the roadside, near the bridge. Interestingly, the motorbike rider parked his vehicle by the road side to answer a mobile phone call. He narrowly escaped the mishap.
