This is the second train robbery reported in the last four days in the state.
The passengers said the robbers had boarded the train at either Jashidih or Lahaban
station. Six passengers, who were travelling on the Express were injured as armed robbers assaulted them and looted cash and valuables worth about Rs 1.5 lakh near Simultala railway station in Bihar.

About two dozen men barged into three AC and sleeper coaches near Lahaban railway station, about 150 km from here, on Sunday night and threatened to shoot the passengers if they tried to resist. Then they pulled the alert chain and got off from the train.
Angry passengers later staged a protest at Simultala railway station under the Asansol division of the Eastern Railway, shouting slogans against the inadequate security provided on trains.

Over a dozen train robberies have been reported across the state in the last six months.
Meanwhile, alarmed over the recurring incidents of dacoity in passenger trains, the railways plan to depute escort party on trains passing through the affected routes.
“We are contemplating having  a big-size escort party comprising more than 25 armed personnel from GRP and RPF to stop recurrence of lootings,” a railway official said.
The incident comes barely four days after dacoits assaulted and looted passengers of the 3111 up Sealdah-New Delhi Lal Quila Express in Lakhisarai district injuring 21 people, including a GRP personnel.
