4,081 farmers get Kisan credit cards in Udupi

Speaking at the district-level review committee for banking held at ZP here on Thursday, he said that the total deposits of the banking sector in the district stood at Rs 7,434 crore. The total advances stood at Rs 3,533 crore as on March 31.

Banks in the district could distribute loan to the extent of Rs 1,417 crore against the target of Rs 1,659 crore. This include Rs 587 crore to agriculture, Rs 173 crore to industry, and Rs 293 crore to tertiary sector.

As many as Rs 1,053 crore has been distributed to priority sector as against the target of Rs 1,238 crore. A sum of Rs 364 crore have been given away to non priority sector. Out of the total advances in the district, the share credit of Rs 341 crore has been distributed for the schemes supporting the betterment of weaker sections. These schemes cover as many as 54,008 beneficiaries from SC/ST and minority communities.

A sum of Rs 92 crore loan has been availed to SC/ST beneficiaries, he added.  There are 19,851 SHGs in the district, of which 18,906 are credit linked.

ZP CEO N Rajashekar, NABARD AGM (DD) Sriprasad Rao, RBI, LDO E R Muthuselvan, ZP Deputy Secretary D Pranesh Rao, Lead District Manager Diwaker Bhat were present.

Housing complex opened

 Paurakarmikas housing Complex at Beedinagudde was inaugurated by MLA Raghupathy Bhat here on Wednesday.

The three floured quarters is built at the cost of Rs 80 lakh from 22.75 per cent funds from SFC. Ground and first floor of the quarters has been completed and the construction for the second floor is under progress.

The housing complex will have 12 houses, with 4 houses on each floor. Each house with 580 square feet includes a living room, two bed rooms, a kitchen and a toilet.
Electrification and water supply to these houses has also been provided, informed CMC President Dinaker Shetty.

CMC President elect Kiran Kumar, Vice President elect Bharathi Chandrasekhar, Commissioner Gokuldas Nayak and others were present.
