Rogue elephants damage crops near Birur

The rogue tuskers came from Arasikere on Thursday night and on Friday morning they were seen near Birur. At about 8 am, they entered the jowar field of Dogehalli Thimmarayappa and destroyed the farmland. At about 5 pm, the rogue tuskers were shunned by forest officials to Inglaranahalli. They are said to be in Inglaranahalli area. Since farm works are going on in full swing, the officials had to stay in the village to keep an eye on the movement of the elephants.

Assistant Conservator of Forest K Lingappa and Kadur Range Forest Officer Nizamuddin along with police officials have brough the situation under control.
