NIE emerges overall champions

Nuthan Kumar awarded best lifter, Imran S best poser, Mansoor Ayaz is Mr MCICT

Imran S of D Banumaiah’s College won the best poser award, while Mansoor Ayaz of MES College was adjudged as Mr MCICT at the Weight Lifting and Best Physique Competitions were held at the NIE Diamond Jubilee Indoor Sports Complex.
Sandesh K M of JSS College was adjudged as man with the ‘Most Muscular’ Body.

Weight lifting results
In the 56 kg category, Suresh T of NIE, Bharath R of B Somani and Rohan Shetty of NIE won the first, second and third places respectively.

Nuthan Kumar K B of NIE, Pradeep S of B Somani College and Sudarshan M P of NIE won the awards in the 62 kg category.
David Rock Joe Boy and Raghavendra K B of NIE, Kiran Kumar R of B Somani excelled in the 69 kg category.

Prashanth Kumar S of NIE, Shahbuddin of B Somani College, and Zhao Bing won the prizes in the 77 kg category.
Arjun Byrappa of NIE, Sandeep B of B Somani College and Sachin K N of NIE won the 85 kg category awards.

Sagar K C and Raghunandan G of NIE won the 105 kg category. Mohan Kumar M C of B Somani was the lone winner in the 105 plus kg category of the weightlifting championships.

Best physique
MES First Grade College won the team championship in the best physique competitions. While Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering were adjudged runners-up.
In the 60 kg category, Sandesh K M of JSS College, Ooty Road won the first place followed by Pradeep S and Bharath R of B Somani College.
Arun R of SJCE, Mohan Kumar S V of JSS Law College and Habeeb Pasha of Farooqia college won in the 65 kg category.

Lankesh D of NIE won in the 70 kg category, while David Rock Joe Boy of NIE and Syed Faraz Ahemed of MES won the second and third prize.
Arjun Raj M S of SJCE, Chandan M B of JSS Polytechnic and Lakshmisha V of Vidhyavardhaka won the 75 kg category.
Imran S of D Banumaiah College, Pradeep Naik of TTL College, and Syed Maaz Massom of MES won the award in the 80kg category.
Mansoor Ayaz of MES and Arjun Byrappa NIE won the top two prizes in the 85 kg category. Mohammed Fahud and Nayaz Pasha of MES won the awards in the 90 kg category.

More than 55 body builders in the city flexed their muscles, while 30 weigh tlifters showed their strength in the competitions held in the city.
The competitions were organised by The National Institute of Engineering and Mysore City Inter-collegiate Tournaments Committee.
NIE honorary secretary, S L Ramachandra inaugurated the competitions at the NIE indoor stadium. Councillor B L Byrappa, NIE principal Dr Shivakumar M S were present.
