Addressing reporters, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee President R V Deshpande said the BJP is showing disrespect to the President by holding dharna. “Even the Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa and the Home Minister V S Acharya have openly supported it. So, this is a Government-sponsored dharna. It is not only unconstitutional but also illegal. It may create law and order problem in the State,” he stated.
‘Summon Central forces’
Urging the Governor to summon central forces to prevent any law and order problem, the KPCC Chief said the Congress on its part will take up a janajagruti abhiyan (awareness campaign) on the issue.
On BJP leader Sushma Swaraj’s allegation that a Congress leader holding constitutional post had recently tried to lure the Bellary Reddy brothers to join the Congress party, he challenged her to disclose the name of the leader. It was an attempt to mislead people and nothing else, he charged.
