<p>Six-year-old Abhishek was washed away in the stormwater drain near Hennur Road on a rainy night on May 31. Search for his body continued for nearly 15 days but it failed. Even the Army was roped in but his body could not be found. <br /><br />Taking suo motu note of the incident, the chairman of the Commission Justice SR Nayak directed the BBMP to pay a compensation of Rs three lakh to the family members of Abhishek for the loss.<br /><br />Earlier the BBMP had paid Rs one lakh and today it paid Rs two lakh more. Thus the total amount the family received from BBMP is Rs three lakh. The state government too gave Rs one lakh to the family. This way the family got Rs four lakh.<br /><br />On Monday, the Joint Commissioner of BBMP East Zone Puttaswamy visited the house and paid the money to the family members.</p>
