Mascarenhas, who was earlier fined 1000 British pounds by his County team Hampshire, will have to shell out another 500 pounds towards the cost of the hearing.

An ECB cricket discipline commission panel, comprising Gerard Elias QC, Ricky Needham and Matthew Wheeler considered two charges against Mascarenhas and ordered punishment.
"The charges were that there had been a breach of ECB directives by a personal attack in a public statement about England national selector Geoff Miller, and also by bringing the game into disrepute by that public statement," an ECB statement said.

"The panel considered this to be a serious breach of the regulations, particularly given his status as a senior cricketer and club captain. It took account of the fine of £1,000 already imposed by Hampshire," it added.

Mascarenhas pleaded guilty to both charges and apologised unreservedly for his actions.
The panel ordered Mascarenhas to be suspended from all cricket under ECB jurisdiction for a period of 14 days from the first day of his county's competitive county cricket programme in 2011.

Mascarenhas recently wrote on his Twitter page:

"Geoff Miller is a complete k**b. He had no clue what he is doing. Fing p***k. Chairman of selectors came to Liverpool and didn't even come and say hi...what a p***k. Doesn't take much to say hello, does it."

Mascarenhas' took a jibe on Miller, days after Kevin Pietersen was sanctioned by the ECB for similar comments relating to his omission from England's limited-overs squad.
