22 trains cancelled as Old Yamuna bridge closed due to floods

The cancelled trains were mostly local trains, a Northern Railway spokesperson said.
Mail and express trains to Delhi Jn were being diverted, he said.

The spokesperson said 53 trains were terminated at various stations.

The Old Yamuna Bridge, connecting east Delhi with the heart of the national capital, was shut for rail and road traffic yesterday morning as the water level in Yamuna rose menacingly.

Traffic movement was closed following rise in water level to 205.78 metre, which is 95 cm above the danger mark of 204.83 metres
