Karnataka initiatives in education lauded

The government has agreed to develop two Universities namely Mysore and Dharwad as model Universities, he said after a meeting with  Dr Kasturi Rangan, Member, Planning Commission and Chairman, Karnataka Knowledge Commission, about the recommendations made by the Knowledge Commission.

The Karnataka government's initiatives have been appreciated by Government of India and it was willing to support the State government in their effort, he said. Dr Kasturi Rangan has assured taking up these initiatives at National level.

The action of the State government would help improve learning by students and also their vocational skills. These efforts will also improve the job opportunities for the students in the State. Dr Kasturirangan was also expected to visit Raichur to have a first hand knowledge of the rehabilitation work in the area.
