Kundapur camp collects 2,500 units of blood

He was speaking at the valedictory function of blood donation camp arranged by G Shankar Family Trust and the District Mogaveera Youth Association at R N Shetty Hall of Bhandarkar’s College on Sunday.

 “We should develop a sense of humanity within us so as to help the less fortune people in our society. Due to extraordinary participation and support from the people, camp has been able to collect blood more than the expectation. We are happy that we have collected 2,500 units of blood and at the same time, we are immensly satisfied for playing a small role in saving lives of the needy,” he said and offered credit to all the blood donors for being a part of the programme. 

Kundapur MLA Haladi Srinivas Shetty presided over the function. Maniapl University VC Dr G K Prabhu, Kundapur Town Munsipal President K Mohandas Shenoy, District Mogaveera Youth Association President Sathish M Naik, Tahsildar Raju Mogaveera and others were present.

On the occassion, monetary aid was provided to the family of Shekhar Mogaveera who died recently.

‘500 donate blood on Sunday’

More than 500 donors donated blood at the camp on Sunday alone including Town Muncipal President K Mohandas Shenoy.

It was a common scene to see more and more number of women participating in the camp enthusiastically.
