Beggars will be included in voters' list: DC

Deputy Commissioner Sasikanth Senthil said that beggars will be included in the voters’ list.

The deputy commissioner said that destitutes at the Destitute Rehabilitation Centre at Pacchanady, who are mentally sound, will also be enrolled in the voters’ list.

“However, many are not sound mentally. Discussions are on for providing voting rights for the undertrials. There was a demand during a phone-in programme for providing voting rights for patients in hospitals as the district has eight medical colleges which will be looked into,” he said.
