BJP leader K S Eshwarappa said that the NDA government at the Centre has taken up a lot of work in cleaning the Ganga river.

“If Pejawar seer agrees, then I will take him to Varanasi and show him the work done,” he said.

Speaking to reporters here on Monday, he said that he was shocked to see the Seer’s statement on the failure of the government in cleaning the river and bringing back black money. “The seer may not have seen the Ganga river in the recent past. I have a desire to take the seer and take a holy dip in the river,” he said.

Stating that he visited Varanasi, Prayag and Kashi before the BJP came to power at the Centre, he said that dead bodies were floating on the water. “Now, a lot of works have been carried out to check the pollution. The river has been cleaned,” he said.
