Congress is ready to face elections: Arun Machaiah

Virajpet candidate from Congress, Arun Machaiah said that Congress is strong in Kodagu and is ready to face the Assembly elections.

Speaking during the Congress meeting at Coorg Community Hall on Saturday, he said that there is a favourable atmosphere for Congress in the district and expressed his confidence in Congress candidates gaining victory in the elections.

He further said that District In-charge minister M R Seetaram has strived to bring grants to the district.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has sanctioned more than Rs 2,000 crore funds to the district. This will help to bring victory to Congress, said Machaiah.

MLC Veena Acchaiah called upon the booth and zonal committee chairmen to work towards the victory of the party.

BJP MLAs have not done anything from 15 years towards the development of the district while Congress released funds for development works, she said.

Silk Marketing Board Chairman T P Ramesh said that the booth level leaders should strengthen the workers.

Congress Kisan Cell leader Neravanda Umesh said that BJP and JD(S) have entered into a nexus to defeat Congress.

AICC member Suma Vasant, leaders Kolyada Girish and Talu Monnappa were present among others.
