The AAP supremo also asked, in the letter, if the RSS did not feel that BJP was weakening democracy.

New Delhi: With the Delhi election scene heating up, AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal has shot off a letter to RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat asking whether the Sangh fountainhead supports the BJP’s “wrongdoings” like deleting names of the poor and Dalits from the electoral rolls as well as “purchasing” votes.

The one-page letter to the RSS Sarsanghchalak on Monday, which was publicised on Wednesday, came as reports suggested that the RSS was working to help the BJP win the Assembly elections in Delhi where the saffron party has been out of power for the past 26 years.

Kejriwal asked whether it was true that the RSS was helping the BJP in the elections and people would like to know from Bhagwat whether the outfit endorses the “wrongdoings” of the party.

“A BJP leader is openly distributing money to buy votes. Is RSS in support of purchasing votes?” he said.

He also asked, “there is an attempt to delete the names of poor, Dalits, Poorvanchalis and slum dwellers though they are staying in their localities for long. Does the RSS think that doing such things is right for Indian democracy?”

He also asked Bhagwat whether he felt that the BJP was “weakening Indian democracy” through such acts.

The former Delhi Chief Minister’s letter to Bhagwat comes as the AAP has upped the ante against the BJP accusing it of deleting names from electoral rolls, especially those from Poorvanchal, who are those coming from eastern parts of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, and others. It also alleged that senior leader Parvesh Verma was distributing money in the New Delhi seat.

BJP, on its part, had accused the AAP of illegally settling Rohingyas from Myanmar, and Bangladeshis for votes. AAP had hit back citing applications filed by BJP functionaries seeking deletion of those bearing Hindu names, asking whether they were Rohingyas and Bangladeshis.

The RSS has been active in Delhi ahead of elections and is working behind the scenes to help the BJP win the capital after two and half decades.
