Jharkhand Assembly Elections 2024 | Constituencies with highest number of NOTA votes

The Chatra constituency had the highest votes polled for NOTA, with 6357 voters choosing the option. Out of the total 219137 votes polled in the constiuency, NOTA accounted for 2.90 per cent of the total votes.

Jharkhand voted on November 13 and is scheduled for a second phase of polling on November 20. With the counting of the votes scheduled for November 23 along with Maharashtra, we take a look at constituencies with highest NOTA (none of the above), a ballot option that enables voters to officially register their votes of rejection for all candidates in the fray, in the last assembly election held in 2019.

According to Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) data, which analysed the vote share for the 81 constituencies in the Jharkhand Assembly Elections in 2019, out of 1,50, 48,908 votes polled in the elections in 2019, 2,05,050 (1.36 per cent) were polled for NOTA.

The Chatra constituency had the highest votes polled for NOTA, with 6357 voters choosing the option. Out of the total 2,19,137 votes polled in the constituency, NOTA accounted for 2.90 per cent of the total votes.

Latehar came second in the list of constituencies with highest NOTA votes. In the 2019 Assembly elections, Latehar in Jharkhand polled 5,503 votes for NOTA, which accounted for 3.02 per cent of the total votes recorded in the constituency.

Other constunties in the state where NOTA was exercised in record numbers include - Deoghar (5381), Jamua (5149), Sisai ( 5013), Manika (4980), Daltonganj (4850), Bishunpur (4599), Madhupur (4520) and Jagannathpur (4092).
