Superintendent of Police Nisha James said a single door system of entrance was in place for all the 14 counting rooms at the counting centre.

She was briefing mediapersons about the arrangements in place at the counting centre for the counting of votes on May 23.

Nisha said security will be strengthened at the counting centre. One CRPF platoon, three KSRP platoons, 83 home guards and 312 police personnel would be deployed in the area.

Vehicle-free zone

The 100-m area inside the counting centre has been declared as `vehicle-free zone’.

The polling observers Krishna Kulal and Nitheshwar Kumar will be in-charge of the counting centre.

The parking zone for vehicles was identified at Brahmagiri and outside the counting centre at St Cecily School, she added.
