Aamir Khan 'sings' a wise tune as he turns 60

The actor revealed that he has started taking singing classes, crooning out a few lines for the media gathered for his birthday event.

Mumbai: Aamir Khan spoke to mediapersons here on Thursday as the veteran actor turned 60.

Joking about his real age being 16, Khan shared some lessons he learnt along the way -- among which was forgiveness, being non-judgemental, and realising the importance of family.

The Bollywood star also shared that he has been learning singing for the last two years-- crooning a few lines for those gathered for the event.

Starting off with a relatively melancholy tone, Khan himself quipped about it before breaking out into Raja Ko Rani Se. It was prescient in some ways, because the actor soon after introduced Gauri Spratt, his current partner.

Khan also spoke about his meeting Shah Rukh and Salman, responding to the obvious question with when audiences might hope to see the big three share screen space. He said -- what has already been iterated by them in the past -- that they were willing to do a project together if a script came their way which was good.

Khan also spoke about his upcoming movie Sitaare Zameen Par, which he said was not an exact sequel of Taare Zameen Par but was a contextual sequel.

The actor also shared that he had been born on the day before Holi, and this year again things seemed to have come full circle with Holi on the day of his birthday -- tomorrow.

Aamir, while touting that his family celebrates all festivities, said that Eid would be a close knit affair this year among family members.

The actor detailed that his birthday plan also included a party at home that his family had arranged for him.

DH asked Aamir if he had any advice for those looking to make their mark in Bollywood and the acting royalty seemed confident in the young talent, saying they were doing alright, and didn't need his advice.
