Abhijeet Bhattacharya slams Dua Lipa for crediting Shah Rukh Khan during 'Levitating', 'Woh Ladki Jo' mashup

Singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya slammed Dua Lipa on Thursday for crediting the song Woh Ladki Jo to Shah Rukh Khan and not him, news agency ANI reported.

"We get the credit the day people hear a song. But if you suddenly take someone's name who has nothing to do with it, then it hurts. If I speak about it on my social media, others are hurt. So, don't use a toolkit. You have a worldwide fan following, I have a limited fan following and I am very loyal to them. So, what was the need to say that it was his (Shah Rukh Khan's) song?...Naam ye badal jayega, chehra ye badal jayega, awaz hi pehcaan hai...Dua Lipa doesn't even know whose song it is, she read out the script that was given to her," he said.

The American pop star performed a Levitating x Woh Ladki Jo mashup at the recent concert in Mumbai.

Dua, also known for tracks like Illusion, Dance The Night, Houdini and One Kiss, took the stage on Saturday as part of the second edition of the Zomato Feeding India Concert.

According to videos circulating on social media, the singer can be seen grooving to the fusion of the two songs, which went viral on social media a few years ago owing to their similar beat pattern.

Shah Rukh's daughter, actor Suhana Khan also shared a reel of the singer's Saturday night performance on her Instagram Story with a series of emojis.

While Wo Ladki Jo, sung by Abhijeet, is composed by Anu Malik and penned by Sameer for Abbas-Mustan's hit film Baadshah, the song Levitating is part of Dua's 2020 album Future Nostalgia.

This was her second performance in India after a 2019 concert at the OnePlus Music Festival in Navi Mumbai. At the time, the 29-year-old also met Shah Rukh.
