Biopics 'Bhaag Milkha Bhaag', 'Paan Singh' in IFFI Panorama

Bollywood biopics 'Bhaag Milkha Bhaag' and 'Paan Singh Tomar' are among the 26 feature films and 16 non-feature films selected for IFFI's Indian Panorama section.

Tigmanshu Dhulia's national-award-winning film, starring Irrfan, made it to the list by the virtue of a direct entry while a jury, headed by filmmaker-editor B Lenin selected other 25 entries.

Similarly, Raja Shabir Khan's Kashmiri film 'Shepherds of Paradise' made the direct entry in the non-feature category while a jury, headed by Raja Sen, picked 15 films out of 130 entries.

In the feature films category, the maximum number of films selected, 6 are in Malayalam, 5 in Bengali, 5 in Hindi, 3 in Marathi and 2 in English. One film each have been selected in Konkani, Kannada, Mising, Oriya and Tamil. Rituparno Ghosh's last film 'Satyanweshi' is also part of the Panorama.

In the non features films category, the maximum number of films selected, 5 are in Hindi, 3 in Malayalam, 3 in English, 2 in Marathi, 2 in Kashmiri and 1 in Kudukh.

The films that will be screened during the festival are 101 Chodyangal, Ajana Batas, Apur Panchali, Artist, Celluloid, Fandry, Jal, Listen Amaya, Satyanweshi, Ship of Theseus, Shutter and OMG among others.

The non-feature category includes films like A Dream Called America, Behind the Mist, Lights on a Door', Rangabhoomi are some of the names.
